DO YOU KNOW SOUTH
AFRICA’S BADMINTON STARS?
Up until now, if you had to ask any u15
badminton kid who Michelle Edwards or Chris Dednam are they would just stare at
you and pull up their shoulders. Not even
to speak about the legends like Alan Phillips, Lena Fourie or Johan Croukamp,
to name but only a few.
This is about to change!!
During the year of 2010 I spent many hours
gathering information and photographs from South Africa’s best Badminton players
(both current and retired).
Kason is now proud to present the all new
“Badminton Trading Card Game”.
This is a fun way for children to get to know
the top players of the most beautiful game we are all part of.
The cards contain a photo and information like
the year of birth, number of SA Titles, best World Rankings etc. of each
player.
The trading cards will be launched early in the
2011 season with 30 cards to collect.
It would be sold in packs of 5, which would
mean you might end up with two or three of the same card and need to swop them
with your friend for the cards you still short.
But wait, there’s more!
You will also find a space on each card where
you can ask the player who’s details are shown on the card to please give you
his/her signature!
And the fun doesn’t stop there either!
The cards can also be used to play a game! By comparing the info each child has on the
card in his hand and the highest one winning the other card makes a great game
to pass some time.
The rules of the game can be found on the back
of any pack of cards.
There are two types of cards: The players who have never won a SA senior
title before, but have some other SA titles will be found on the Red cards,
while those players with SA senior titles will be found on Golden cards.
The launch issue will have 14 Gold cards and 16
Red cards. I will be continuing my
research during 2011 in order to increase the amount of cards and give out a
second issue later in the year.
Cards will only be issued to players who have
at least made the SA senior squad and those with SA senior titles. So if you think you qualify – feel free to
send me your photo and information to roelof.dednam@shisas.com
This same address could be used if you want to
order any specific card charged at R10 per card.
Now, for those of you who are interested in competitions – here is a
